Earlier this month, Blue Heron’s season began with a very special concert—a celebration of our 25th birthday! From Peterhouse Partbooks favorites to a breathtaking Turkish fusion world premiere written for us to mark the occasion, the performance was a milestone we won’t soon forget. And like all our concerts, recordings and activities in the community, it was made possible thanks to the passion, dedication and financial support of fans like you.
Today, we need your help to sustain Blue Heron, and to keep our world-class, historically informed performances of medieval and Renaissance music coming now and for years to come.
This season, the immersive musical experiences ahead thanks to your support include Christmas in 15th Century France & Burgundy (and the release of a new CD featuring music from that program, available in time for the holidays!), Johannes Regis’s tour-de-force Mass based on L’homme armé (with a special repeat performance in New York City!), the jazzy, intoxicating polyphony of the late 14th Century Ars subtilior, the reprise of a favorite pairing of 16th Century Spanish love songs and motets of texts from the Song of Songs, and our ongoing commitment to community engagement through collaborations with music schools, community concert series, and programs like EBT Card to Culture that ensure free and low-cost tickets are available to all of our performances.
As always, ticket sales cover only a small fraction of the cost of Blue Heron concerts. And with rising costs, your help is more critical than ever. By making a tax-deductible gift today, you will help further Blue Heron’s mission and keep the music going. Give now by clicking below or by calling (617) 960-7956.
