SPRING APPEAL 2022

Double your gift!
Every gift we receive beginning May 23, 2022 through June 30, 2022 will be matched up to $5,000 through a generous challenge grant.
If you’ve yet to support our Spring Appeal, please consider doubling your gift through this opportunity.
Thank you!

We are feeling celebratory! Our first full season of live performances since the start of the pandemic is now complete and we are grateful to our Blue Heron family for your part in making it possible. Thank you!

Ensuring the health and safety of you, our audience, as well as our musicians and staff was a priority this season. Your support helped Blue Heron navigate:

  • Extra Rehearsals
    • Last-minute personnel changes due to infection or quarantine for our fully vaccinated musicians were needed on multiple occasions. In one such instance, a musician had to rush home to care for an ill family member and was replaced only one day before a concert.
  • Additional expenses to produce high-quality video concerts
    • Fewer home-based hosts were able to open their homes to non-family members.
  • Technical expenses to produce high-quality video concerts
    • While virtual concerts could not replace the experience of a live performance, we were able to broadcast digital versions that met the same exacting standards to which we hold our live performances.

We now look forward to launching our 2022-2023 season. Please consider a gift to our Spring Appeal as we plan next season’s programming which we’re hoping will include:

  • The final two concerts of our ambitious Ockeghem@600 Project
  • A live performance of the Josquin program commissioned by Antwerp’s Laus Polyphoniae Festival 2021
  • A program of late 15th-century music  with special guest Anna Danilevskaia, director of Switzerland’s Sollazzo Ensemble
  • A new CD: Guillaume de Machaut’s Remede de Fortune

We hope you can make a generous gift to help us meet our $30,000 goal. Your support inspires and sustains us as we do all we can to keep you connected and engaged in our music-making. Thank you!
